The Voigtlander Vitomatic IIa is a compact 35mm fixed lens rangefinder camera.

There were quite a few variations of the vitomatic, some with rangefinders, some without, some with f/3.5 lenses, some with f/2 lenses.
This one, is a iia with a Color-Skopar f/2.8 50mm lens.
It has a Prontor SLK shutter with speeds 1/1-1/500 and bulb.
The rangefinder is coupled, and quite clear within the large bright viewfinder.
There is a selenium lightmeter with a matched needle read out which is also visible in the view finder as well as on the top of the camera.
The meter accepts films from 12-800 iso.
The great thing about this camera is that one the aperture is set to the shutter speed you can click between the different settings at the same exposure

On the bottom of the camera there is a nice little shot counter
But you can also see in this image the quality of build in the hinge... this is a weighty piece of kit!

I did very well with this camera, took a punt on an ebay auction with a a very vague description from someone who openly knew nothing about cameras at all - "working condition unknown".
£10 is what I paid, and it works perfectly!
