    only a little chilly. gives an eerie look to the scene. it's cold on our side of the pond too.

    The ice is broken, as are the shores of the pond. It's nicely repetitive in a subtle way. Great catch!

    I really don't miss that kind of cold much. Mind you it is hovering around 30C here most days. Thank you for the reminder of what cold looks like Dave, nice pair of images.

    Yes, it is a dew pond. There are a number of them on the South Downs.

    I've never seen one with water in, just as depressions. There's one near The Long Man isn't there?
