This is from the "Great Pacific Airshow" over Huntington Beach in 2018. (I think I've posted some images from the airshow before.)

In 2016, the inaugural version of the show, I had shot many digital images from the beach. In 2017 I had shot many digital images from the top floor balcony of a beachside hotel. For 2018 I was going to be back on the beach again and I didn't fancy spending my time doing a repeat of 2016, so I decided to shoot the 2018 airshow on B&W film.

I used my Olympus OM2n with an Olympus 35-70 zoom lens and a #25 red filter. This image is on Ilford HP5 film processed in Rodinal.

Oh, that one really works. The lower curve really makes it.

My red filter is only 5x. I must admit to being confused about #25 and my 5x. Are they on the same scale of darkness, mine much lighter?

What mine has written on it is: B+W 49 090 5x MRC - the manufacturer, the diameter, no idea what 090 refers to, or the 5x.

B+W is the filter manufacturer I think and "49" would likely be the thread size (49mm). Don't know about the rest though maybe 5x is the exposure compensation factor. Just a guess.

    Thanks for your comments Rob.

Now that is simply wonderful Brian.

And clearly an abstract reimagining of.... ;)

Thanks a lot Pete. (What's it a reimagining of...?)

There is a touch of Zorro in it, Brian, which Pedro might be alluding to...

The meaning behind Pedro's communications are so often obscure; his messages so often opaque. Perhaps even intentionally sometimes. (@Pete Askew :p)

    You may be correct, Rob.

Thanks for allowing me to be correct, Brian ("may" instead of "might" - my wife is head of the Grammar Police!).
