A railway line in one of seven villages that make up the Amana Colonies, set up by a German religious group in the mid-1800s.

Olympus OM-2n and Arista EDU 400 film processed in Rodinal.

Wow, what a perfect image. All the verticals and the horizon are perfectly rendered. Perfect in black and white. And a subject doubtless in-keeping with the back-to-basics philosophy of the Amanites!

    I love this picture.

I'm always conscious of the terrible terrible people the Horizon Police and in particular their Verticals Flying Squad led of course their Chief Superintendent whom I shall not name (@Pete Askew)!

I appreciate the feedback, Rob. Thank you.

Wonderful shot, Brian and I can add nothing to what Rob said.

I'm sure you could, Pete, or is it because the horizon and verticles are perfect, rendering you speechless?

That is a great image. Little station in the midst of a vast landscape. Love it.

this is fantastic. great composition. and while we all think a certain someone might be a bit...ocd, he's usually right. we just don't need to tell him that.

Yep dose it for me, those lead-in lines and verticals all add to a superb composition.

This is how to do it! Works great in B&W: therefore, timeless.

Now what can I say that hasn't already been said? Never mind, but if I had known that my Olympus OM2n is able to produce this kind of an image, I'd take it back to Iowa this instant or wherever it is. No wonder he got it all straight, as flat as it is out there:D well done young man!
