Shot this one a few years ago with my Sigma SD Quattro. That is Catalina Island on the horizon, the vantage point being Newport Beach, California.

I love that painted look to the horizon Brian, that is an intensely fiery sky! Would this work as a close crop on the romantic couple and the hut I wonder?
I get the California vibes strongly from this image!

Thanks Wes. I imagine a close crop might work; the camera I used has a pretty high res sensor. I think I'll give it a try, so we'll see. Thanks again.

Very nice and warming on this cald day. Is that life guard hut on sticks?

Thanks Rob. Yeah, the life guard tower is pretty much on sticks. 2x4s and 4x4s I imagine. They're built sturdy enough to withstand the breeze but light enough that they can be dragged to other parts of the beach.
