The Blue Morpho (also known as Peleides Blue Morpho, Common Morpho, or The Emperor) - found in Mexico, Central America, northern South America, Paraguay, and Trinidad. Doris Longwing - It is found from Central America to the Amazon. There is considerable color and pattern variation (subsequent images will show this) Both shot at the Fort Worth Botanical Gardens - Butterfly Exhibit in a large conservatory.
I have seen the first one in Trinidad and I must say, I would never be able to capture it the way you did John. A marvellous job with both of them. Beautiful indeed.
Thank you gentlemen. Both image were shot with flash. The flash is the Canon macro flash - MT-24EX. I have the heads mounted on a custom bracket that allows independent movement/positioning of the flash heads.
I've seen those flash setups. I came across a diy tutorial for making your own, but never did find time to fool around with it.
