Thanks to Rob, I thought I would show some of my attempts at trees, it is something I've been shooting for a short time now without that much success.

    After the wind.

All excellent, Mick. Somehow the last one speaks more to me. Something to do with the dynamic contrast between the old, sturdy tree and the fresh grasses. Good series.

Wonderful set, Mick. I especially like the first set. I like the slightly claustrophobic atmosphere you have created. Did you add extra light?

Thanks Rob, that was the one I liked the best as well, I just loved the textures of the bark and the way it was cut down it just stood out against the reeds.

Thanks Pete, yes it did have that claustrophobic feel to it, it was a cold day but once inside the woods it was warm and eerily silent and soft under foot. You could see why the trees had been blown down so easily as there was no way the roots could hold onto anything.
No extra light used, it was a tip I had picked up on from watching Mark Littlejohn, split-toning with a few extra tweaks to taste, to give it that feel of uncertainty.
