I have this wonderful photography book, an overview of the work of Joseph McKenzie, once Lecturer in Photography at Duncan Jordanston Art College in my home town of Dundee. Well, I was fooling around with the cover:

    ...and came up with these:

...by putting a B+W ND 4x filter on the Q2M...

...gave me the idea of revisiting old photographs and "interpreting" them in a playful way, to see what else they can reveal.

And I couldn't resist throwing in a couple of selfies while I was at it!

A most intriguing set of abstracts.

The second selfie reminds of the opening of Dr Who, back in the b&w days.

Haha, so it does. The first one looks a bit brutal, like I'd been beaten up. I can assure you that did not happen :)

Are you suggesting a similarity to Willian Hartnel by any chance, Dave?! ;)

I really like how these transform the cover, Rob. They turn a manaquin into The Madonna!

That second experiment of the book cover is haunting in a way the others don't convey, very much like she was a skull floating into the ether... I could see one B.Stoker having this character in a novel...

Cheers, Wes. Yes, I know what you mean. It has a certain floating apparition vibe to it. A bit of fun on an otherwise dull evening.

Fantastic set! It takes a few to really "see" what is there.
