Cheers this is the set up... subject close to softbox softbox angled away from the back wall to throw it into shadow i would have liked a subtle hair light, but i couldnt get it working in a hurry ... and it was just to demo the room really ...
Very Nice Hamish. As you know, I'm not a fan of hair lights. I personally would crop it 10 X 8 into her hair and might have used a bit of reflected light to her left.
I tend to agree to a point, hair lights seem to look a little "conventional" to me ... We did actually use a reflector, but it was very subtle in it's effect! I tried a 10x8, just couldn't make it stick ... Looks as though we might be doing a few more shots next week as part of me helping a nice chap called Tony (who I'm trying to get to start posting - no pressure Tony) get to grips with a studio ... Should be a nice opportunity to try a few things out!

Well, I'm yet to see any evidence of this "novice" status or otherwise ... ... Any chance of seeing some photos? Say hi in the welcome area if you can find the courage to too So is Adelle going to join then? Wish her well for the weekend ... Be interested to hear how she gets on!
That's spot on Pete! ... And would have no doubt been similar to what inwould have normally done if I could have "seen" it ...
